Breaking news: Kevin Smith and Seth Rogen smoke weed. OK, maybe it’s not so surprising, considering the “stoner” movies the two have been involved with in the past, but Smith sat down with MTV News to explain how funnyman Rogen recently turned him onto marijuana — and how it’s the best thing that has happened to him in five years.

Smith, who directed Rogen in 2008′s ‘Zack and Miri Make a Porno,’ claims Rogen is one of the most talented people he’s ever worked with.

“I got so much from him,” he said. “He re-energized me in a weird way. I became a stoner because of Seth Rogen.”

Smith was in awe of how Rogen could be a “functional stoner,” showing up to the movie set and be “brilliant” and “constantly writing [and] productive.”

The director had only tried marijuana a handful of times in the past and said it was his idea to share a joint with Rogen on the last day on the movie set.

“It was awesome,” Smith said about the experience. “We sat back, watched some footage and sat there smoking. And I loved who I was. I loved how the inhibition dropped away and I loved just being honest.”

And he hasn’t stopped since. The director claims he’s had the most productive years of his career thanks to Rogen — and weed.

“That dude gave me the greatest gift I’ve had in the last five years,” Smith said. “The moment I start smoking, I start working. … No one could ever say, ‘You fat, lazy piece of s**t stoner!”

Thanks to the GlobalMana Foundation and the design group Northshorecartoon for publishing a very creative, funny and spot-on political commentary in the form of a short cartoon focused on the costly absurdity of the U.S. government banning the domestic production of industrial hemp.

Most all other countries (Canada, France, Great Britain, China, Switzerland, etc…) do not allow the lawful use of cannabis for non-medical purposes, yet, they allow for the production of one of the most utilitarian and environmentally-friendly row crops that humans have been cultivating and prospering from for thousands of years.

Regardless of whatever happens in state and federal governments with ‘marijuana’ laws in future regarding medical access, decriminalization or legalization, the US government must stop trying to enforce a complete and total blanket prohibition on all forms and uses of the amazing cannabis plant—notably, like other major countries have done regarding industrial hemp.

A reddit user comes up with a short video about the history about hemp and cannabis. Check it out.

Tommy Chong hits it on the money. He really tears one out of Mike Huckabee.

Tommy repeatedly accused Huckabee and fellow guest David Evans of lying about the effects of pot use. Eventually, Chong just got mad and started directly fighting with Huckabee.

“You’re getting paid to say what you’re sayin’,” Chong said to Huckabee. ” … You get paid to recite all the lies.”

Huckabee admitted to getting paid for his show, but denied that he was being paid to promote any particular point of view. Which was about the point at which Tommy Chong cursed at Mike. He called Huckabee a “mushroom farmer.” “… You know what a mushroom farmer is? … You keep em’ in the dark, and you throw $#!t on them.”
